Although wood structures aren't as common as they once were, some of the great designs in aviation history and some current types have major components made of wood. Think of the Mosquito bomber, if you could afford to build and fly one, wouldn't it make a great twin engine sport plane!

Wood is a great material for structures! How many times has a car struck a tree - resulting in the car being towed off to the wreckers and the tree lives on! You can trust a tree!
